      Examined

      This Indenture made this Nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one
      thousand seven hundred and ninty three Between Richard Prewett, Elizabeth his
      Wife and Julius Nucom of the County of Pittsylvania of the one part and Robert Devin
      of the aforesd County of the other part Witnefseth that the sd Richd Pruett Eliza his
      wife and Jawles Newcom for and inconsideration of the sum of Fifty pounds lawfull
      Money of Virginia to them or one of them in hand paid and sattisfied by the said Ro.
      Devin the receipt whereof the said parties doth hereby acknowledge hath bargain’d
      Sold, [enfroffed] and confirm and by these presents doth absolutely give, grant
      bargain, Sell, [enfroff] and confirm unto the said Ro Devin one certain tract or parcel
      of Land lying and being in the County aforesd containing One hundred and fifty Acres,
      be the same more of lefs, and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at or nere a
      Spanish oak on the North side of little Strawberry (which tree is dead and fell down)
      thence North sixty seven degrees east One hundred and eleven poles to a red oak, thence
      the deviding line between the said Prewett and Jacob Isaac (now Spurling) South
      twenty five degrees East two hundred and sixty poles crofsing said Creek to a Shrub
      white Oak, thence south sixty seven degrees West one hundred and eleven poles to
      pointers, thence North twenty five degrees West two hundred and sixteen poles
      to the beginning, and the right of them the said Richard Pruett Elizabeth his
      wife and Jules Newcom for themselves and their heirs the above granted tract
      of parcel of Land with all Improvements, conveniences, Profits and advantages
      to it belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Robert Devin his heirs
      and afsigns will forever warrant maintain and defend from the claim or claims
      of any person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or pretending to the same
      And that he the said Robert Devin his heirs etc is hereby alow’d by the said Richard
      Prewett Elizabeth his wife and Jules Newcom to have quiet and peacible pofsefsion
      of the same. In Witnefs whereof the said Richard Pruett, Elizabeth his wife and
      Jules Newcom has hereunto set their hands and affixed their Seals the day and
      Year above written.

      and Julius Newcom parties thereto and the same was Ordered to be recorded
